Max Randal (b. 1999) is currently working as a Musical Engineer for Edify Technologies (developers of MusiQuest) and serving as the Minister of Music at Hillwood Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Vanderbilt University, where he studied solo performance with Karen Ann Krieger, collaborative techniques with Dean Melissa Rose, organ and baroque realization with Dr. Polly Brecht, and advanced musicianship with Marianne Ploger. Max is also the lead developer of the cross-platform ear training app Intonalogy and sings bass in the Nashville Symphony Chorus.
Max is an experienced transcriber and arranger. Since 2012, he has enjoyed creating numerous piano arrangements of primarily film and video game soundtracks by ear. Max is also a composer of piano and chamber music, with the goal of creating emotional landscapes on the canvas of tonal harmony. Outside of music, Max has also completed a minor in computer science, and enjoys distance running, with a first place finish in the 2019 Nashville Marathon and personal bests of 2:30 in the marathon and 15:26 in the 5K.
